Dancehub shines with 67 diamond wins at RACA Eisteddfod

Dancehub dancers from Greenhills dazzled at the RACA Eisteddfod, earning top awards and even a perfect score.

Members of the Dancehub Company recently took part in this year’s RACA Eisteddfod, earning outstanding results.

The eisteddfod, hosted by Randfontein High School (RHS), saw the hub’s dancers compete in various categories, including hip hop street, Amapiano, contemporary solos, duos and groups.

According to the director and co-owner of the hub, Angelique Pita, their dancers showcased true passion and resilience, scoring a total of 67 diamonds, 21 platinum, two gold and two adjudicator awards.

For Angelique, the highlight of the competition was the cheerleading section, where the hub’s three groups all received diamond awards. She further mentioned that the Allstars Cheerleading Team was the only group to achieve a 100% score from the judges. The Allstars now continue their four-year unbeaten streak while another cheerleading group, RAM Extreme, is closer to its decade-long winning streak.

“We are beyond proud of our dancers, coaches and thankful for the endless support from our parents and community,” Angelique said.

Sadly, this also marked the end of an era for one of the hub’s directors, Khaya Dhladhla, who is stepping down from coaching the cheerleading teams.
