Festival celebrates passion for dance

From preschoolers to adults, the Let’s Dance Festival gave new dancers the chance to showcase their talent, passion, and courage on stage.

Dans Africa Youth Company and Beyond the Barre Dance Academy gave aspiring dancers an exciting chance to shine on stage at the Let’s Dance Festival.

Ilse de Bruyn, owner of Beyond The Barre Dance Academy, explained that the festival was a great way for the dancers to enter the world of dance competitions.

With 30 years of experience in the industry of dance industry, competition judge Debra Gush offered constructive remarks to every dancer who received medals, trophies and certificates.

She continued, the festival was a big success, and everyone had a great time, from the youngest dancer, who was only five years old and showcased her solo art, to the adult section.

“Dancers work so hard on their passions and have so little opportunity to show them to others. The festival was created to offer dancers the opportunity to bring their dancing to the stage, in a friendly and uplifting environment,” said Ilse.

They are planning to make the festival a yearly event and hope it inspires more dancers to showcase their talents and build their confidence. They would also like to collaborate with businesses to offer better prizes and, in turn, offer marketing for them.
