Rappies U11A team proudly shows off new kit following generous donation

A rugby kit sponsorship has given Rappies players a timely morale boost ahead of the upcoming season.

The *U11A team of Laerskool Rapportryer proudly wore their new rugby kit, signalling an exciting start as they prepared for the upcoming season.

The kit was donated by Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital, which has reaffirmed its commitment to community development and youth sport.

The official handover took place on the school grounds, where players, coaches and hospital representatives gathered to mark the occasion.

Hospital manager Johan Lombard highlighted the importance of investing in youth development, noting that sport plays a key role in building discipline, teamwork and confidence among learners. He added that the sponsorship aims to support grassroots sport and ensure young athletes have access to proper equipment, ultimately boosting morale and performance.

“The hospital and the community work hand in hand, and the hospital itself was established by the community. It is therefore important for us at Lenmed to partner with community initiatives such as sponsoring the kit for Rapportryer,” Johan said.

Rappies coach Rudi Marx expressed his appreciation for the donation, saying the new kit will uplift the players and instill a sense of pride as they represent their school in upcoming matches.

The players are excited to wear their new kit for the next season, and we hope it will motivate them even further to perform well and win their games,” he said.

Franssiska de Canha, whose son Franco plays in the first team, attended the handover and praised the initiative as a meaningful step towards strengthening community ties and encouraging active lifestyles among young people.

The partnership between the hospital and the school reflects a shared vision of empowering the next generation, with the hope that this support will inspire the team to perform at their best in the season ahead.
