LIMPOPO – Princess ‘Allysoccer’ Nenguda, a female soccer content creator on social media, is fast growing into a prominent figure as she continues to endear herself to local soccer lovers.

From organising tournaments to media coverage

The 23-year-old’s love for football began when she became involved in organising soccer tournaments for young boys in Mpheni. She later started covering soccer matches in different parts of the Vhembe District under Thuso Cam Cam Media.

Nenguda, a student at the University of Venda, said she enjoys what she describes as “shaping people’s day-to-day debates” about different sporting codes and issues affecting communities.

Overcoming early discouragement

She said many people initially discouraged her from entering what has traditionally been a male-dominated sporting environment. She has travelled to many areas to provide live coverage of soccer tournaments and league matches.

Young women, she said, should start small businesses and use the profits they generate to gradually expand their ventures until they achieve their goals.

She advised young people who aspire to become good leaders to stand for justice and avoid being influenced by unethical leaders, whom she said could destroy organisations.

Thuso Magandi of Thuso Cam Cam Media said the organisation was proud to have someone like Nenguda. He described her as someone who was always available to assist others whenever they needed her.

“She made sure that people received the best and encouraged them to set goals for themselves. I am committed to helping and inspiring young people to become excellent sportsmen and sportswomen. I always urge youth people to put effort into whatever they do, whether in academics or sport.”
