A little care for them
With winter around the corner, teachers, learners and parents from Care Bears Daycare handed out warm clothes at the entrance of the RDP section in Westenburg last Friday afternoon.
POLOKWANE – With winter around the corner, teachers, learners and parents from Care Bears Daycare handed out warm clothes at the entrance of the RDP section in Westenburg last Friday afternoon.
The clothes were donated by Care Bears parents and other clothes came from a non-profit organisation in Mokopane.
There were various clothing items to choose from for both children and adults, including beanies, jackets, jerseys, tracksuits, and denims.
Tharcha Lefember, owner of Care Bears also decided to help a four-year-old girl who was seemingly being neglected by her mother. The child, who is currently visiting her uncle in Westenburg, lives in Pretoria with her mother and is one of seven children.
“The child only had a few clothing items and no underwear. I decided to give some summer dresses, winter clothing and underwear to the little girl,” Lefember said.
The residents thanked the Care Bears team for caring about the people in their community. “It is important to give back to the community and to care for one another,” Lefember said.
The residents were also given a meal before returning to their homes.
