Nell makes bail in Gauteng
Former Polokwane businessman, Jacques Nel was granted bail in the Gauteng North high court on Wednesday.

POLOKWANE – Former Polokwane businessman, Jacques Nel was granted bail in the Gauteng North high court on Wednesday.
That was after his bail application in the Polokwane high court failed, allegedly because not all the correct documents were submitted.
Nell’s bail application was first denied on March 6 in the Polokwane regional court as Nell was seen as a high flight risk.
He will appear in court again on April 4 for his trial date to be set. A source within the Hawks told Review that none of the Hawks dealing with the case were contacted to attend the appeal or give inputs when Nell appealed against the Polokwane magistrate’s verdict.
The arresting officer only found out he was released on bail after being contacted by Review’s journalist on Thursday, a day after Nel was released on bail by order of acting judge George Avvakoumides.
According to the source, no reasons were furnished in the order as to why Nell was granted bail or why his appeal was successful, which the source said was highly irregular.
