POLOKWANE – A motorcyclist broke both his arms in a pothole related accident yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
The driver, Abie van der Bank, was on his way to work just before 07:00 when he hit a pothole with his motorcycle in Landdros Maré Street, close to the airport turn-off.
Jeff de Beer, who is a member of the Red Devils Motorcycle Club, said Van der bank seemed to have broken both his arms and possibly his collarbone as well.
“An eye witness on the scene said Abie hit a pothole and lost control of his bike. He hit a lamppost and was flung from the motorcycle,” said De Beer.
Van der Bank was taken to the Mediclinic Limpopo by paramedics who arrived on the scene.
The precise nature of Van der Bank’s injuries could not be established at the time of going to print.
