Nod of excellence for working hard in 2013

THE Seshego education circuit held its excellence awards for primary and high school learners at the Mastec hall in Seshego zone 2 last Friday.

THE Seshego education circuit held its excellence awards for primary and high school learners at the Mastec hall in Seshego zone 2 last Friday.

The district circuit manager, Japhta Mametja said the aim of the awards ceremony was to encourage the learners and teachers to work hard.

“We want to encourage the learners to continue doing a good job. If you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done,” said Mametja.

Kgadi Agness Kgobe, the circuit manager said the awards were based on the 2013 academic performance, as well as extra curriculum activities.

“The circuit thanks the teachers and learners for a job well done. We awarded learners who worked hard in the Annual National Assessment in mathematics, Sepedi home language and English second language. We awarded learners who passed well in the 2013 senior certificate examinations and their teachers. We also awarded Kgabo Secondary School, which is in the top three in the circuit,” said Kgobe.

Lebogang Manamela was awarded the best gr. 12 learner award.

A former Monyong Secondary School learner, he was awarded for obtaining four distinctions in geography, life science, mathematics and physical science.

“It’s hard to explain what I’m feeling. I encourage the other learners to continue working hard. Those who were not awarded should not give up,” said Manamela.
