A FIRE has left the Seshane family homeless after their home in Segorong village was burnt down on February 28.
All their personal belongings and the memorabilia they had collected over the years were lost, and they have to beg their neighbours for a place to sleep.
Sabina Seshane (50) said her family was shocked and horrified at the sight of watching their home burn to ashes.
She said she did not know the cause of the dreadful fire.
“The mother and her five children are in need of financial and moral support.
“I am not working and I suffer from a chronic illness. No one in my family is working. I am in dire need of a fridge to at least put my medicine.
“I am begging good Samaritans to help with food, clothes and other resources so that I can take care of my family,” she pleaded.
Members of the Segorong Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), which was formed after the Seshane disaster, encouraged locals to bring some balance into the lives of the devastated family.
“Your donations and support are vital to giving this family a fresh start, starting with a new home. They have lost all their belongings and have nothing left. Please help to give hope to this family by showing your love and care so that they can rebuild their lives,” Lucas Mabelane of the SDMC said.
Supa Save in Burgersfort recently donated a R500 gift voucher to the family.
Those who wish to help the family can contact Sabina Seshane at 078 248 2711 or the SDMC coordinator, Abel Mnisi, at 079 420 7572.
