Planned shutdown to effect water supply in the city

The Polokwane Municipality warned residents about a planned shutdown of the Ebenezer water plant of Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Polokwane Municipality warned residents in a media statement about a planned shutdown of the Ebenezer water plant of Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) today (Tuesday).

According to municipal spokesperson, Tidimalo Chuene, this shutdown would be from 07:00 to 13:00 to allow LNW to replace faulty cap guard relays.

She said the shutdown might have an impact on the water supply to Polokwane.

“We urge residents to use water sparingly during this period to ensure the shutdown at Ebenezer has a minimal impact,” Chuene said. She said LNW would ensure more water was pushed from the Olifantspoort scheme during the shutdown and that reservoirs were kept full to minimize the impact.

“Polokwane Municipality and Lepelle Northern Water remain committed to ensure an uninterrupted water supply.”
