POLOKWANE – Dressed in white to complement the theme: White Christmas, residents danced until the early hours of Sunday morning during the Westenburg Rugby Club’s Spring Ball.

The annual event was held at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on Saturday evening, with entertainment by the band, Kozmiq.

There was also a lucky draw with the following prizes:

• Two-night stay at the Protea Hotel The Ranch Resort with breakfast included.

• Six R100 Nando’s Thornhill Drive-Through vouchers.

• Four R100 Amarillo Spur Mall of the North vouchers.

• Two boxes of Pepsi glasses.

• Five hair product hampers from Jacky’s Hair Salon.

• A voucher for a full body massage from Mangwanani African Spa.

There were two items auctioned off at the ball, a Weber braai and an African artwork.

Randall Jooste walked away with the Weber braai for R1 100, while Rowland Stander walked away with the African artwork also for R1 100.

The management of the club thanked everyone for their support, along with the sponsors.

Francois Hartlief, the chairperson of the club said: “without your support we will not be able to make a difference in our community. We have dedicated ourselves to helping those who help us. Over the years, we have managed to help different people in our community with different needs and we would not be able to do that without your support. For the past five years, we have been working on building a stadium behind the Westenburg Secondary School. We have spent about R300 000 on the stadium and we are almost at the final stage of building the pitch. Thank you very much, we really appreciate your support”.
