Mokopane circuit awards stellar efforts for 2014

THE top schools, teachers and learners of the Mokopane education circuit have been awarded for their achievements in 2014.

THE top schools, teachers and learners of the Mokopane education circuit have been awarded for their achievements in 2014.

Hosted by the Mokopane education circuit in cooperation with E.H. Hassim Builders World in Mokopane, the award ceremony was held at Oasis Lodge last Thursday.

“I congratulate the Mokopane circuit on their excellent matric results in 2014. I know the circuit has the potential to achieve even greater success in 2015,” said Ndo Mangala, the Mogalakwena education district senior manager.

Top gr. 3 and 6 learners:

• Frans Sethosa, a gr. 3 learner from Setjoamadi Primary School with a 93% average in mathematics.

• Reabetswe Langa, a gr. 3 learner from Sepedi Primary School with 100% average in Sepedi.

• Mitchel Kutumela, a gr. 3 learner from Jakamene Primary School with 100% average in Sepedi

• Thabang Madubane, a gr. 3 learner from Kgabetli Primary School with a 93% average in Sepedi.

• Malebo Mokgotho, a gr. 3 learner from Jakamene Primary School with 100% average in Sepedi.

• Terry Tshaba, a gr. 3 learner from Legaganeng Primary School with an 80% average in English.

• Nthabiseng Langa, a gr. 6 learner from Jakamene Primary School with a 96 % average in English.

• Lesego Seloma, a gr. 6 learner from Moshupsa Primary School with an 80% average in mathematics.

Top 10 matric learners for 2014:

• Khomotjo Mpotata Ramakolo from Ramogabudi Secondary School with a 91,7% average. Ramokolo received six awards, including a computer tablet. She obtained 100% average in mathematics, physical science and accounting. She also achieved the highest mark in life science. She is going to study actuarial sciences at the University of Witwatersrand.

• Frans Monyemane from Ramogabudi Secondary School with a 83,7% average.

• Theresia Thindisa from Ramogabudi Secondary School with a 80,7% average.

• Sylvester Makgae from AB Makapane Secondary School with a 78,8% average.

• Nicole Makhafola from Mmadikana Secondary School with a 76,3% average.

• Surprise Baloyi from AB Makapane Secondary School with a 76,1% average.

• Johannes Mahlafunya from Mmadikana Secondary School with a 75,7% average.

• Tebogo Lesu from Ramogabudi Secondary School with a 74,8% average.

• Johannes Thema from Ramogabudi Secondary School with a 74,7% average.

• Dolly Marakalala from Mmadikana Secondary School with a 73,3% average.

Top three schools in the Mokopane education circuit in 2014:

• Maponolle Secondary School with a 100% matric pass rate. They improved from a 47,4% pass rate in 2013.

• Lekwa Secondary School with a 87,5% matric pass rate.

• Ramogabudi Secondary School with a 78,6% matric pass rate.

Mapanolle Secondary School teachers who achieved a 100% pass rate in their subject in 2014:

• Mathematics literacy: Raisibe Kekana.

• Physical science: Mosima Somela.

• History: Mmamakgoboketja Kutumela.

“Thank you to all the role players in their contribution to the excellent matric pass rate. I greatly appreciate the school governing bodies, social partners, principals, teachers and the learners for their part in our success.

“In 2015, we will not get anything below a 70% matric pass rate. Only two learners obtained 100% for three subjects in the senior certificate examinations, and I am honoured to announce that one of those learners is Mpotata Khomotjo Ramakolo from the Mokopane educatuion circuit,” said Jan Ralekgokgo, the Mokopane education circuit manager.

Angelina Shadung, the principal of Moshupsa Primary School said she was impressed by the awards ceremony.

“I look forward to being part of the awards ceremony next year. Thank you to E.H. Hassim Builders World, without them the day would not have been possible.
