Farm schools click on the future of learning

TWO farm schools, Kranenburg Primary School and Maroi Combined School, each received two computers from the Musina mayor, Mihloti Ramoyada on Friday during her visit to the school to assess the conditions of learning in farm schools.

MUSINA – TWO farm schools, Kranenburg Primary School and Maroi Combined School, each received two computers from the Musina mayor, Mihloti Ramoyada on Friday during her visit to the school to assess the conditions of learning in farm schools.

During the hand-over, Ramoyada said government worked hard to make sure technology was no longer just for the privileged.

She said despite people’s financial backgrounds, everyone was entitled to access technology as it enhanced the modern way of life.

“We need our teachers and learners to get information at the click of a button from wherever they are. This is where the role of technology kicks in. The education of our children is basically going to be easy,” said Ramoyada.

She urged the schools to take care of the computers so they could also serve other people in the future. “This government is doing its best to make sure education is accessible to every child,” she said.

The principal of Kranenburg Primary School, Margaret Maripa, said she was thankful for the computers.

Maripa assured the mayor that the school would handle the computers with care.

The principal of Maroi Combined School, Masala Mafune said: “we don’t have enough words to thank the mayor for her generosity. This is a life long investment, which we will cherish”.
