POLOKWANE – Westenburg Secondary School ended their 30th anniversary celebration with the cutting of a big cake last Monday.

The cake was donated to the school by the Westenburg Women’s Forum.

This was one of four cakes, the other three were donated by the community in celebration of the school’s anniversary.

The school’s management, a representative from the department of education, teachers and learners gathered at the assembly square, where they exuberantly sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to the school.

The acting principal, Jimmy Steele, acting circuit manager for the department of education, Heleen Peasnall and the two presidents of the school’s learner representative council (LRC), Lawrence Adams and Pholosho Mothiba, blew out the anniversary candles after the learners sang happy birthday.

The learners each received a cupcake before they went home.
