MOKOPANE – LEARNERS from Waterberg-, Gwenane and Weenen High Schools were hosted by members of the Mokopane police station last Thursday as part of Cell C’s Take a Girl Child to Work day.
The learners were taught about the great variety of career paths within the police service. Apart from being a police officer they can become social workers and help the less fortunate, or a driver, ranger and for the animal lover, a dog handler, the possibilities are endless.
The learners met different members of the police where they could ask questions and broaden their knowledge in each field.
“We motivated the children to work hard in order to pass gr. 12 and to never stop believing in themselves, where there is a will there is a way,” said Irene Masingi, spokesperson of the Mokopane police station.
