MRA: March in Mokopane will be peaceful
This morning the Mogalakwena Residents Association, MRA, confirmed that the march on Tuesday (tomorrow) against crime and corruption will be peaceful and within the law.
MOKOPANE – This morning the Mogalakwena Residents Association, MRA, confirmed that the march on Tuesday (tomorrow) against crime and corruption will be peaceful and within the law.
“We are not asking for a total shutdown of the town!” said the Mogalakwena Residents Association, MRA at the press conference on Monday.
“We as the MRA are not forcing anyone to take part in the legal march tomorrow, where we will hand over a petition to the chief magistrate of Mokopane, with regards to the stand of the residents of Mokopane in the trial of the three suspects in the Charles Mgidi murder case.”
“It will be a normal Tuesday, transportation will be operating as usual and we are not forcing anyone to close their businesses. We are not asking for a shutdown of Mokopane, everyone is welcome to come and join the march willingly,” said Percy Nketse, Chairperson of the MRA.
The march, escorted by traffic officials and police offers, will be from from Tony’s cash and carry in Nelson Mandela Drive to the Mokopane Magistrate court in Hooge Street at 08:00.
Charles Mgidi was shot and Killed on April 4 in front of the Caltex garage on the corner of Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki Street, by Samuel Matjila, Patrick Sekhu and Desmond Machaba. The three suspects will appear before the Mokopane magistrates court on June 30, tomorrow.
