POLOKWANE – Team building activities are fun, constructive ways to help learners to build trust and learn to work together. The children at Mickey and Minnie Castle School enjoyed activities such as sack jumping, egg run and a three-leg race on Wednesday as part of their holiday activities.
One of the teachers, Rentia Woortmeyer, said that the children enjoyed structured activities that give them the opportunity to socialise with their peers.
“Skills learned in group activities will go a long way in helping kids later in life,” she said.
The children were taught to work together and cooperate. Children develop trust in their team mates through participating in relay activities. Another teacher at the school, Jodine Rossouw, said that these team building activities were vital.
“These activities teach them teamwork and other valuable skills such as communication, leadership, motivational and problem solving skills,” she said.
The ten learners seemed to be having a lot of fun during these holiday activities.
