Learners debate about the pros and cons of single gender schools

POLOKWANE – Pemps Primary School debate team is through to the next round of the Clans debating tournament after they beat Curro Heuwelkruin at the recent debate tourney.
Pemps accumulated 293 points while Heuwelkruin only had 267 points.
The debate between the two schools was guided by the motion Single gender schools are more effective than mixed schools.
Debaters took to the podium with the aim to convince the adjudicators. Pemps opposed the motion while Heuwelkruin proposed the motion. Gali Diswane, Pemps first speaker, explained that single gender schools are a burden to society while the second speaker, Dimpho Mohuba mentioned that in single gender schools learners could not assist one another.
