Extra classes to assist gr.12’s before trial exams

Westenburg Secondary School gr.12's are confident that they are prepared for their trail examinations thanks to the extra classes.

POLOKWANE – ‘We are ready and prepared for our trial examinations.’

Westenburg Secondary School gr.12’s are confident that they are prepared for their trail examinations, thanks to the outsource program the school management and School Governing Body (SGB) organised for them a week before the exams started.

The classes were offered by teachers from neighbouring schools and former teachers and were held after hours and over the weekends in all subjects.

“This is just another way the school assists the learners to obtain their national senior certificates at the end of the year,” said the acting school principal, Jimmy Steele.

“Teachers have different teaching methods when explaining work and that is the reason why we, the school management and SGB, decided to organise the outsource programmes.

The learners now have access to different learning methods to prepare for their examinations. I would like to thank every teacher who supported and participated in this programme.

They offered their time and resources to help our learners. I would also like to thank the learners for attending these classes and wish them all the best of luck for the examinations,” Steele explained.

What the learners had to say

“During the sessions, we did revision work and this helped us summarise our work properly to make studying easier. We also learned different methods to solve problems from those we learned in class.

The programme was worth it and we learned a lot,” the learners said.
