POLOKWANE – Ten underprivileged Flora Park Comprehensive High School learners now walk proudly after they received brand new school shoes on Thursday.
The shoe donation was made by Old Mutual Polokwane.
Percy Mabasa, Old Mutual Manager, said the donation formed part of their social responsibility campaign, which started in 2012 and aimed to put a smile on people’s faces and give back to the community.
“Learners have to focus on academics without being bothered by the sand and thorns in their torn shoes,” explained Mabasa.
The principal, Hosea Mashao, thanked Old Mutual for identifying the school to be part of the campaign.
Reguel Mojapelo, one of the learners who received shoes, was delighted with his surprise gift.
