Learners take centre stage at Mitchell House drama

The drama learners of Mitchell House College took to the stage last Wednesday night to perform their exam pieces.

POLOKWANE – The drama learners of Mitchell House College took to the stage last Wednesday night to perform their exam pieces.

The learners all performed monologues, which ranged from serious topics and characters to less serious topics combined with some humour. The learners managed to draw the audience in through their use of emotion, props, costumes and lighting, which set the scene perfectly.

The audience was introduced to a range of characters such as a schizophrenic, a man in love, a suicidal young woman and a teacher warning her learners about a possible alien attack.

The learners spoke with emotion, maturity and did not hold back on the drama, which was watched very closely by adjudicators, Jack Holloway and Amrian Terblanche.

It was clear that these learners love what they do and that their passion for drama fuelled their performances.
