POLOKWANE – Two learners represented the Hadashah Learning Centre at the All Africa Student Convention (AASC) at the University of the Free State last week.

Various African countries competed in the annual AASC in events ranging from athletics to preaching. Moteba Raphadu and Mitchell Petzer represented their centre and brought home various medals.

The AASC for Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) schools is much like the mini-olympics in government schools. The aim of the convention is to provide a platform for teenagers from Christian schools to showcase their gifts and talents, to instill in them a desire for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and to help teenagers recognise God’s call on their lives with a specific view and mission in Christ.

Moteba took part in the 100 m dash, checkers and soccer. Mitchell took part in power point linear, checkers and shot-put. They both received gold medals for the Golden Apple Award where they recited the book of Proverbs. They also won bronze medals as a duet for the creative praise and worship dance. Petzer was announced to be in sixth place in the social studies research project.
