Victims of George’s Valley bus accident identified

Eight of the 10 people who died in a bus accident on George's Valley over the weekend have been officially identified

LIMPOPO – The bus was travelling to Phalaborwa from the Holy City of Moria when it overturned on the R528 road over the weekend.

According to department of transport spokesperson, Kagiso Mootane, the cause of the accident was still being investigated, but it seemed the driver lost control of the bus.

The following people have been identified: Molatelo Rebecca Pilusa (60) from Phalaborwa,  Enos Mahlolane Shai (35) from Phalaborwa , Foster Sebila (12) from Phalaborwa, Modjadji Kwathisu Mashimbyi (63)  from Giyani, Rebecca Paulina Pilusa (44) and her 11-month-old baby, Motheane Monyela, Janet Matlala Rapetswa (53) from Giyani  and Mbanzina Midlovu (42) from Giyani.

“Two victims are not yet identified,” said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

A case of culpable homicide has been opened, and police investigations continue, concluded Otto.
