Prominent political leader wanted for alleged assault

Police are searching for a prominent political leader and member of the Legislature following a reported argument that ensued during a party meeting at Jane Furse around noon yesterday (Sunday) when two of his party members were allegedly assaulted.

According to Provincial Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe the suspect was still being traced and no arrest has been made as yet.

He said during the assault two victims, a woman aged 27 years and a 31-year-old man, have sustained bruises to the face and were taken to a local clinic for medical treatment.

A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm was registered.
