Camisa on the road to recovery

The larger problem now are the mounting medical bills as the couple's medical aid does not cover everything

POLOKWANE – According to his wife Reinette, Antonio Camisa is smiling again. Camisa was involved in a serious motorbike accident last year and is still on the road to recovery, fighting all the way.

He was in a coma after the accident on 3 December during which he sustained several serious injuries, including bleeding on the brain and a collapsed lung.

“He still cannot put a lot of weight on his left leg and sleeps a lot during the day, but he improves daily.

“At least he is at home with me and our children, and that alone helps him with the recovery,” she said.

Reinette said that her husband has lost a lot of weight but the larger problem now are the mounting medical bills as the couple’s medical aid does not cover everything.

“The accident cost my husband his mode of transport and he lost two months of work. It is something that keeps getting more difficult, he smiles but I know he wants to get back to supporting his family, but his body hasn’t recovered yet,” she said.

She said that worrying about the funds for the children’s school fees and the necessary clothing is also not helping much.

“We really need assistance and would appreciate any help,” Camisa said.

Anyone who would like to assist the couple in any way, can contact Reinette Camisa on 083 985 6902.
