Ready, set, shave!

Show your support for cancer survivors on Saturday, 25 February at the annual Shavathon.

POLOKWANE – This year shavathon stations will be available at Mall of the North, Platinum Park and Makro.  The proceedings at all three stations will start at 09:00 until 15:00.

You can shave or spray your hair as a symbolic gesture to show unity with those affected by cancer as losing one’s hair is a common side-effect of cancer therapy.

Funds raised will go towards providing a unique, integrated service to the public and all people affected by cancer. Cansa care centres offer a wide range of care and support services to those affected by cancer.

These include:

  • Care and Support to patients, counselling, support groups,
  • 11 Care Homes for patients undergoing treatment away from home,
  • Cansa Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) support for children and families, including lodging close to hospitals,
  • Coping with treatment, medical equipment, wigs, stoma, wound care,
  • Cancer Screening, including mobile health clinics going to rural areas,
  • Health awareness,
  • Advocacy, lobbying for affordable medication, and more.
