[Watch] Sinkhole causes havoc on Compensatie Street

Residents in the area have been left without water since then.

POLOKWANE – As a result of a burst pipe in Compensatie Street, which occurred over the weekend, a large hole has begun to form in the middle of the street.

The hole has resulted in water streaming down the street.

Residents in the area have been left without water since then.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution after a taxi carrying school children, drove into the hole this morning not knowing how deep it was.

Due to the amount of water  streaming out, the tar around it has begun to erode away.

According to Municipal workers on site, the area will have water by the end of the day.
