These men were previously arrested on the same charges in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. “A firearm recovered during the arrest linked them to more than 60 cases of rhino poaching throughout South Africa, two of these cases occurred in the Hoedspruit area some months back,” said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
All three men were remanded in custody to allow for further investigation and will reappear before the court on 12 June 2017, confirmed Ngoepe.
The suspects have been identified as Skhumbuzo Ndlovu (37), Jabulani Ndlovu (39) and Forget Ndlovu (37).
“This milestone achievement by the police and other role players is a major breakthrough in the fight against rhino poaching in this province.”
