Visuals are key for blogger, Kingvibe
Mashao 'The Kingvibe' Seabela (20) prides himself on being a creative, unique and stylish visual blogger who regularly blogs on social media about shops around South Africa.
POLOKWANE – Originally from Turfloop, before he matriculated in 2015 he was involved in debating and public speaking competitions and won several prizes including second place in public speaking at the National Youth Water Summit and first place at the Rotary Public Speaking Competition in 2015 among other feathers in his cap.
“As part of winning the competition in 2015 I had the opportunity to travel to Germany to explore the country which was an amazing experience I am glad I could be a part of,” he said.
He discovered his interest in visual blogging in 2015 because he loved to take photos and post them on social media platforms where he discussed fashionable clothes.
“I got immensely positive feedback which is when I decided to get a proper camera instead of using my phone to take pictures for my followers. From there on, I took my camera and tripod with me everywhere I went. I began doing visual blogging professionally last year and I was soon noticed by companies in Cape Town who liked my blogs. This inspired me to approach other companies to hear if they would be interested as well and since then my passion has grown.”
After matric he studied a BA degree in politics and environmental sciences at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

“I’m also doing a social media short course and brand development with other institutions in Cape Town. I am part of a group of eight students who were selected to travel to New York in America and speak at the United Nations General Assembly during the World International Model United Nations, representing UCT,” he gushed.
“I’m also part of the Fashion Society Club where I’m an adviser and a social media marketer for United Nations Association within UCT and for Leo Marquard Hall. I have also done marketing for various branding companies in Cape Town.”
Currently The King Vibe has worked with Truworths and he’s collaborating with them to promote their clothes and accessories and to celebrate their 100-year anniversary from 7 to 13 August.
“My mom, Barack Obama, Maps Maponyane and Trevor Stuurman are some of my biggest role models and inspirations. I think it’s important for Polokwane to grow in terms of the media industry. I feel like most individuals will decide to study media outside of Polokwane and remain that side, not bringing the talent back to their roots. I want to change that for my province,” he concluded.
Mashao has more than 12k followers on Instagram and he also has a surprise launch on 17 August in Cape Town, venue and time will be confirmed soon.
