Parties get houses in order

The Congress of the People (Cope) in Limpopo disbanded the leadership structures of Vhembe region on Sunday.

LIMPOPO – According to the Acting Cope Provincial Chairperson, Dr Makgwana Rampedi, the structures were disbanded because they were dysfunctional and factional and therefore the new interim leadership will establish sub-regional (municipalities) structures.

Rampedi added the disband of the structures was to strengthen the branches to work hard in preparation of the 2019 general elections. He urged the newly appointed leadership to work hard on the ground so they can take services to the people.

The newly appointed Vhembe regional leadership is led by Jerry Mulaudzi as Overall Convener (Regional Secretary) and Erick Sikhanika as Overall Coordinator (Regional Chairperson).

Meanwhile, the EFF in Mopani region held its regional conference at Tivumbeni Education College on Sunday.

During the conference Pontso Mushuma was elected as the Regional Chairperson, Dumisane Melemele as Deputy Chairperson, Bazooka Hlungwani as Secretary, Margaret Komana as Deputy Secretary and Elizabeth Mathaba as Treasurer.
