Musina warrant officer dies on duty

The 34-year-old allegedly lost control of the state motor vehicle he was driving.

LIMPOPO – Police in Musina are investigating a case of culpable homicide, following the death of a warrant officer on Thursday afternoon, 25 January, along the R572 road between Musina and Alldays.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says Warrant Officer, Aluwani Caven Nesengani, from Tshino outside Vuwani and attached to the Musina Local Criminal Record Center, was on his way to attend to a complaint in Alldays, when he lost control of the state motor vehicle.

“The vehicle capsized and overturned, killing him instantly,” he said.

Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba says he is saddened by the loss of another police officer, this time through a motor vehicle accident.

Ledwaba passed his condolences to the deceased’s family, the next of kin and his colleagues.

Police investigations into the accident continue.
