[WATCH] Women learning to defend themselves with help of Shodan Mokgehle

With the increasing rate of crimes against women and children, learning self-defense has never been this important for women.

POLOKWANE – A woman should know how to defend herself /children in that moment of danger, therefore we host ladies self-defense sessions throughout the year, says Shodan Koena Mokgehle, a coach at Limpopo Karate Academy.

“During these sessions participants are taught to protect themselves and apply self-defence tactics during awkward situations. Karate is a non-weapon practice but it allows women to use their bodies as weapons to avoid injury.”

In the video Shodan Mokgehle demonstrates some of these moves. He is assisted by student Ruth Mochemi.
