Financial wellness is Jacques’ art and planning is his craft

Jacques Pretorius has been in the financial planning business for over 20 years now and says the key to helping clients is to make sure they are well informed.

POLOKWANE – For many people, the world of finance can be quite intimidating. From estates to wills and retirement plans, it’s no surprise that many people run from investments because they don’t understand what it entails. But that’s why people like Jacques is there to make financial planning easier for you.

Jacques, is the Franchise Principal and Financial Planner for Momentum Consult Bendor, together with his wife Liezel who handles short term and commercial insurance. With years of experience, Jacques says he is able to give you financial planning advice in order to make sound financial decisions.

Situated at 47 Jorrisen Street, Momentum Consult Bendor is a financial advisory business to individuals and businesses and offers clients services such as wealth management and advice solutions for investments, healthcare, stockbroking as well as estate planning, wills and trusts.

“We are here to help people and serve people. You will find that a lot of people are misinformed about the products they are paying for and we are here to provide adequate information and advise so our clients can make informed decisions. Whatever your life stage, our solutions empower you to manage and enhance your financial wellness throughout your lifetime.” Jacques told Review.

Momentum Consult Bendor regards financial wellness as an innovative form of art and they take on both a dynamic and hands-on approach when crafting financial plans to suit their clients’ needs.

Jacques says unlike other financial institutions, who are fixated on commission and getting their products sold, Momentum Consult Bendor takes financial planning to another level through one on one consultations and making sure their clients reach their financial goals through informed choices.

“People need to know where they will end up with the products they pay for and they need to know details of what they are getting for what they pay as, a financial planner, I give clients an opportunity to plan and look after their loved ones better. The money will speak for itself if the client has invested correctly,” he said.

Jacques also encourages young adults to become financially literate by getting the best possible advice from professionals in the field. “You will find that young people who have just entered the workforce will be thrust into paying for a product without understanding what they are paying for. One needs to understand the technicality behind the products as well as things such as risk needs and income protection and we provide advice for that. It is very important for people to be financially literate,” he told Review.

The most important part of his job is to make sure his clients are well informed and that will then ensure peace of mind. “It is very important to talk to people about financial matters and be well informed so that you don’t find yourself in a position where you have lost time because you found out you have been investing incorrectly and that the product you are paying for doesn’t actually benefit you. It is my job to sell advice and not a product,” he concluded.
