SDM spends 98% of Infrastructure Grant
Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) has reached 98% spending on its Municipal Infrastructure Grant in the 2018/19 financial year, for the first time in the past decade.

LIMPOPO – This emerged during the Annual Mayoral Lekgotla held at Ga-Nkoana village in the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality recently.
Mayor Stan Ramaila said they were that efforts to implement proper planning in terms of procurement, water and sanitation especially, were yielding positive results.
The municipality remained committed to achieving a clean audit report that spoke to the actual service delivery needs on the ground, he said.
He added that while they were proud that the district was the only municipality that did not invest in VBS, they were worried about the effects on service delivery as a result of the investments.
The district said its performance and that of the four local municipalities on service delivery was satisfactory.
Reports presented to the Lekgotla showed improvements regarding the construction of access roads and bridges, and electrification of villages.
Ramaila concluded that the slow progress in terms of getting bulk water schemes to Sekhukhune, like the Nebo Plateu, Nkadimeng Scheme, De Hoop Dam, Moutse Bulk to provide much needed water to the communities, was cause for concern and that delivery of the projects should ideally happen faster.
