The perfect opportunity to learn more archery

POLOKWANE – If you have always wanted to partake in archery, the right opportunity is heading your way.
On Saturday, 5 October Xtreme Archery and Hope Archery will host an archery day for children who have never had the opportunity to take up archery as a sport, but always wanted to. The event will be held on the Silicon Road at Xtreme Archery, next to the SAPS Dog Unit.
The event starts at 09:00 and ends at 16:00. Tickets costs R50 per person and includes a hot dog, cold drink and archery trial. Other activities include horseback riding, various stalls, jumping castles and music performed by local talent.
People who would like to drop in on the day and support the young shooters will be able to buy tickets ahead of time and on the day at the gate.
Johan Prinsloo, organiser, says his aim with the event is to provide children with an opportunity to participate in the sport and hopefully fall in love with the sport. This is to ensure Limpopo’s talent is not lost and that the sport is kept alive locally. “I want to see the sport grow and children, especially those who are still in school, be given the opportunity to take part in the sport. I often hear that children see the sport but have no clue how to get involved and this is their opportunity to get involved in the sport and everything that goes with it,” he says.
