The political climate in ruling party ranks in particular in the Waterberg Region and Mogalakwena municipal structure has necessitated the agreement to a resolve for urgent intervention. This follows a series of meetings between the African National Congress’s (ANC) National Dispute Resolution Committee and the provincial executive of the party in Limpopo.
In a statement issued at the time of going to press, ANC Provincial Secretary Soviet Lekganyane said it had been agreed during the meetings led by ANC Deputy Secretary General Jessie Duarte that the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) of the ANC should act diligently and speedily on measures identified to restore the political decorum of the organisation in the region. On matters at Mogalakwena Municipality he said the meeting had noted that the authority of the political management team and the executive committee collapsed and required an urgent review by the PEC.
He concluded with the matter of the reinstatement of the Deputy Chairperson and Treasurer of the party in the province, Florence Radzilani and Danny Msiza by saying National Executive Committee (NEC) officials have acknowledged that the matter has been dragging on for too long and that they would ensure all necessary steps were taken in order to bring it to a speedy conclusion.
