Mass prayer for safer roads
Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality has expressed concern over the continues loss of lives on roads in the area.
LIMPOPO – The municipality, joined by several congregations and pastors from various churches across the province, held a mass prayer at Lebowakgomo civic centre hall last Friday.

It is believed the mass prayer, which come only weeks after 11 people were killed in a head-on collision on the R37, would help curb the number of accidents happening on the roads.
Pastor Awezani Nemaukhwe of the United Presbyterian Church told CV the accidents are the result of “the devil’s spirits”.
“It is important that we come together as a country and pray harder for peace within us.”
He said people of this country are living in a difficult times which need every individual to be well behaved.
“We all need to kneel down and call upon God so that our prayers can be heard and attended tp before the world comes to an end because of the accidents.”

Lepelle-Nkumpi Mayor, Mariam Molala, urged road users to be extra careful on the roads.
She said it is crucial that they continue abiding by the road signs rather than pretending to do so only when they see traffic officers from a distance.
“We also need to be patient and respect one another and avoid racing on the roads,” she said.
Abuse against children and women, peace and leadership and crime were among the challenges which were prayed for.
