Bokamoso techs up for the Fourth Industrial Revolution with computer lab

This was made possible through a donation from Diebold Nixdoff when they handed over an ICT lab.

LIMPOPO – Learners of Bokamoso Secondary School in Seshego zone 2 will now have access to tablets and the internet.

This was made possible through a donation from Diebold Nixdoff when they handed over an ICT lab. The handover was attended by the Capricorn South District Director, Tinyiko Nkuzana.

Diebold Nixdorf Transformation Manager, Kammy Reddy said her company had an important role to play in the development of the country and they have chosen to focus on education.

“As a part of our corporate social responsibility, we sponsored the ICT mobile lab. We have a policy within our company that we try and assist employees and their communities and Bokamoso was nominated by one of our employees. Diebold Nixdorf has already assisted 17 rural schools across the country and this is an ongoing project. We plan to expand and help more schools in 2020 and most probably try to include science into this whole mixture,” said Reddy.

She said learners must remain focused as matric examinations are stressful if they did not prepare throughout the year.

“Everybody is talking about the Fourth Industrial Revolution and we are here to helps schools, especially in the rural areas, to move forward.

“We know that in most schools across the country, learners are already learning of digital device e-books and e-learning is now been used. The idea is to assist the learners and help them understand how e-learning works and how to adapt to this new style of teaching,” she said.

Bokamoso Principal, Titus Setlau said this means the school will have changes.

“Teachers will be able to teach using ICT and learners will learn quicker when you teach them through e-learning and ICT. We must adapt to change and we thank Diebold for helping with this change.

“The department will bring IT specialists to the school in the coming years, to teach robotic and programming, so if we have equipment such as this, the learners will be able to master the content and learn easily,” said Setlau.
