Books thanks to E-Club

Learners of Myngenoegen English Private School (MEPS) were surprised on Monday when the Rotary E-Club of Baobab delivered a consignment of books and protective masks at the school.
The books are both reference and non-fiction material and will be used to augment the reading matter already available in the school library, while the protective masks will be distributed among frontline workers.
Representative of the Rotary E-Club, Nadine Daly said that the books and the masks were donated as part of a Rotary international initiative.
She said that MEPS has been selected because the Rotarians are confident that the books will be put to good use.
MEPS Principal, Takura Warinda conveyed the school’s gratitude to Rotary and explained that the learners have a passion for reading. “The learners volunteered and formed a library committee. They run it well and will use the books with respect,” he said.
MEPS head girl and head boy Simamkele Mathonsi and Cannimhambo Chewe received the donation on behalf of the school.
“We are humbled and very excited. Our library’s books are older and the new books will bring new life into our collection,” Simamkile said.
Cannimhambo added that the books will encourage learners to read more.
