Khutso heals aches and pains
Khutso Vinolia Mabotja's career choice was guided by her mother's needs.

The massage therapist explained that she chose her profession because of her love for the beauty industry, but the biggest deciding factor was seeing her mother struggling with back pain. “I witnessed my mother’s struggle and she would always want me to rub her back,” she explained. Her experience with the soothing effects of massage started before she decided to qualify in the field.
The 27-year-old has been working as a massage therapist for two years and expressed the pleasure she derives from having people walk away feeling like a new person. “Apart from the many people that I have the pleasure of meeting on a daily basis, there is no better feeling than massaging people’s pain away,” she said.
Khutso added that although she loves her job, it comes with challenges. One of those challenges is people doubting her professionalism. “We have had female clients saying that they would not be comfortable with their husbands coming to the spa alone,” she said. She expressed that it did not sit well with her because she is professional and massage therapy is no different to going to a doctor or dentist, if the therapist is professional.
When she is not working her magical hands on aches and pains, she enjoys adventures. “I like exploring other provinces and countries. The next two countries on my radar are Zambia and Dubai,” she said. Her dream is to one day have her own business because she loves people and is passionate about the industry.
