Sisters Unite for a cause

The Sisters Unite Movement was established to help young girls restore their dignity.

Miss Teen South Africa finalist Kamogelo Makgato said having a sister to go through life with is always better than doing it alone.

This was said during a gathering of the Sisters Unite Movement at Konanani Day Spa in Jorissen Street recently.

She said the Sisters Unite Movement was established to help young girls restore their dignity.

“This is an initiative I have recently launched which is focused on encouraging, motivating and supporting young girls from rural areas. I will be uplifting my sisters who are more in need then others with motivational talks, gifts and amazing games as well as some fun in the sun, just to hopefully put a smile on their faces. One of the most important reasons why I started this is to put a stop hate between girls, as it is still a huge problem in society because there is no love, support or encouragement given to each other. I’m doing what I can to stop that,” said Makgato.

She thanked all the young girls who attended, Phuthi Ramafumo from the Ms.Blu Foundation, and potential sponsor, Konanani Day Spa for their contributions.

Konanani Makhuvha, owner of Konanani Day Spa, said she teamed up with Miss Teen South Africa finalist Kamogelo Makgato to organise this event meant to celebrate young girls.

“I am very passionate about raising young girls into the beautiful women they are supposed to be and desire to be in life. I decided to sponsor the young Miss Teen of South Africa finalist with a beautiful venue and gift pack for young girls so that they can come here and have a beautiful day.

“The whole point of such a place is to make sure that every woman feels desired. We decided to spoil these young girls as they are from villages and different backgrounds and in need of some motivation. We wanted to put them out of their comfort zone in a good and uplifting way,” said Makhuvha.
