Savannah Mall brings Christmas cheer
Janene Wessels from Savannah Mall Center Management says this initiative is a first for the centre, but not a last.

POLOKWANE – Christmas came early for 80 families in and around the city as Savannah Mall took hands with other role players in donating food buckets.
Janene Wessels from Savannah Mall Center Management says this initiative is a first for the centre, but not a last. “The hope is to uplift our community and feed the less fortunate during the festive season. We will continue with community-driven projects during 2024.”
Wessels and her colleague, Bianca Krauze, along with the ward councillors from the area, CPF Sector 4 representatives and a representative of Cosmos Angels, an organisation that looks after those who live on the streets, handed out the 80 baskets to those in need on December 21.
These were distributed as follows:
- Bertie Nel distributed to the homeless and less fortunate people within the network of the Kosmos Angels.
- Nelly Sebabi, ward comity community services portfolio and councillor Phaka Murwa from Ward 20 will distribute the buckets within the ward community, Penina Park, Fauna- and Flora Park and Serella View area. These recipients were identified and added to the approved indigent list.
- Wilna and Morné Stoop from CPF Sector 4 will distribute the buckets to the Myngenoegen Shelter and Ngwana Baby House.
“The management of Savannah Mall would like to thank each person who partnered with us, to make this possible. Our next project will be in January, a “Back to School” drive. We want to donate school shoes and uniforms to those children who are not fortunate enough to afford their own.”
Any company that would like to join hands with us in this project can contact Savannah Mall at 012 296 1401 or email info@savannahcentre.co.za.
