New to Polokwane? Hurry up for new learner placements in local schools

Parents who are yet to apply for learner placement in Polokwane schools due to new work appointments, job transfers or relocation, must report to the circuit office.

POLOKWANE – The Education Department invites parents who are yet to apply for their children’s placement in public schools, to make use of the late application opportunity on Monday and Tuesday ( January 15 and 16).

The criteria for the late application system includes new work appointments, job transfers or relocations, a departmental statement reads.

Parents who are looking to appeal rejections received from schools where they applied, are also invited to start the appeals process at the Provincial Education Circuit in Polokwane.

Departmental spokesperson Mike Maringa encouraged parents and guardians to make use of this “last opportunity” to find space for their children, as schools in Polokwane and Tzaneen have reached full capacity.

Meanwhile, parents who started the appeals process late and have received “regret letters” are advised to visit the Education Circuit office on January 17, while follow-up appeals will be handled on January 22.

“Departmental staff returned to work on Monday and we are hoping to deal with the remaining few applications especially those who are relocating to Polokwane for work-related purposes. If any other learners are yet to be admitted, we will look into it but we need to emphasise that our schools are full,” Maringa remarked.
