Thuso dedicates 1st book to youth

Thuso Neluheni wrote the book 'Inheritance', as an admonishment to young people who depend on their family's money for everything in their lives.

LIMPOPO – The Phiphidi-born Thuso Neluheni published her first book, entitled ‘Inheritance’ early in February, and said the book is dedicated to young individuals who stand to inherit upon the death of their parents, serving as a reminder that they should not lose their true value for the sake of money.

‘Inheritance’ is a captivating piece of fiction that explores the dynamics of sibling rivalry. The story commences with the news of the passing of Dr Sharama, a wealthy businessman who left four orphaned children behind, with Lucy as the oldest member of the family. Upon hearing about his death, some of his relatives concoct a scheme to seize his wealth, but to do so, they need Lucy’s help. Despite her close relationship with her siblings, these relatives manage to shatter their bond in an instant, turning Lucy into an enemy of her own flesh and blood. Will Lucy ultimately decide to fight with her siblings for the sake of her father’s legacy, or will she be deceived by these opportunistic relatives who are eager to claim a piece of the inheritance for themselves?

Neluheni said she wrote the book as an admonishment to young people who depend on their family’s money for everything in their lives and then become selfish in their greed when it comes to inheritance. “It is sad to see individuals lose their lives because of this. I want to remind people not to forget what matters during such times,” she said.

Although the author acknowledges that nothing is fundamentally wrong with being a beneficiary of an inheritance, she encourages young people to pursue their passions and build their legacies rather than relying solely on their family’s wealth.

Neluheni started her education at Dovhoni Primary School and completed Gr 12 at Marude High School.

Afterwards, she obtained a degree in information technology through the Pearson Institute of Higher Education in Pretoria.

Her book can be found in local bookstores. Follow her on Facebook.
