The ANC Peter Mokaba Region’s 10th regional conference is underway at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium following the resolution of a final internal dispute by the party’s National Dispute Resolution Committee on Thursday night.
The conference faced a last-minute attempt to halt proceedings when five concerned party members filed an urgent interdict at the Limpopo Division of the High Court.
Judge President George Phatudi dismissed the application, which named six ANC leaders involved in dispute resolution matters as respondents. Judgment was delivered late Thursday night.

POLOKWANE – The ANC’s Peter Mokaba regional conference has been temporarily halted after six concerned party members lodged an urgent interdict with the Limpopo High Court: Polokwane Division.
Details about the applicants and the full grounds for the interdict remain unclear, but the matter is expected to be heard in court this afternoon.
Despite the court challenge, Regional Task Team (RTT) spokesperson Adolph Rapetswa insists the conference will still take place later today.
He confirmed that logistical activities, including pre-registration, media accreditation collection, and the official opening of the conference, have been pushed back.
“The RTT is disappointed by this move,” said Rapetswa.
“We expect all members to first exhaust internal dispute resolution processes before taking legal action, including in matters relating to the conference.”
In a media statement issued earlier, Rapetswa did not disclose how far the branch-level disputes have progressed.
These disputes have reportedly disrupted the 70% delegate threshold required for the conference to proceed, an issue expected to be addressed by the ANC’s National Dispute Resolution Committee.
