Foreigner arrested during drug bust at Peter Mokaba Stadium

A suspected foreign drug dealer was arrested at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday with Kat and crystal meth.

POLOKWANE -A 50-year-old foreign national has been arrested for drug dealing and possession after Limpopo police intercepted his vehicle during an intelligence-driven operation in Polokwane on Sunday, May 25.

The Limpopo police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba said members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit received credible information about a foreign national suspected of selling illicit drugs from a Polo Vivo in the Polokwane CBD.

“The specialised unit located the suspect’s vehicle at the Peter Mokaba Stadium parking lot where it was was tactically approached and the suspect apprehended without incident,” his statement read.

A search of the car and the suspect led to the discovery of Kat and crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of R20 000.

Ledwaba said the man appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday where he was charged with dealing in drugs and unlawful possession of drugs.
