WATCH: Burst pipe leaves Penina Park residents without water
A burst pipe on the R37 is to blame for a water supply interruption in Penina Park, leaving residents frustrated as water streams down Church Street.
POLOKWANE – Residents of Penina Park have been left high and dry since the early hours of Tuesday morning after a burst water pipe disrupted supply to the area.
Taps have run dry across the suburb, with residents reporting that a large volume of water has been gushing into Church Street since the incident began.

By this morning, the streaming water had made its way as far as Ivy Park, prompting concerns about water loss.
The spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality told the Polokwane Review-Observer that the outage is due to a burst pipe along the R37.
“The burst pipe is affecting supply and the contractor estimates completion within five hours,” Selala said.
Frustrated residents say they were not informed about the interruption and are concerned about the impact of prolonged water shortages on households, especially those with young children and elderly members.
The municipality has not yet indicated whether water tankers will be dispatched to assist affected areas while repairs are underway.
