Polokwane schools shine at Day of Stars competition

PCS and Jabez Academy claimed top honours at the Day of Stars majorettes and cheerleading competition, showcasing exceptional talent.

POLOKWANE – Local schools lit up the field on Saturday during the Day of Stars Competition for Majorettes and Cheerleading, proudly hosted by Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS).

The event, which featured 14 primary and five high schools from across the province, saw an impressive showing by Polokwane representatives PCS and Jabez Christian Academy.

Both schools earned top honours and high rankings across various categories.

PCS’s primary school team, the PCS Warriors, and its high school team, the Warriors Seniors, claimed a total of 11 medals and trophies, several for first-place performances, showcasing their outstanding skills and precision on the field.

Jabez Christian Academy also made a mark with three high placements, further proving the calibre of Polokwane’s cheerleading and majorettes talent.

PCS host instructor Modikwa Mohlake described the event as “prestigious and successful,” praising the strong turnout of both teams and spectators that made the day one to remember.

Among the participating schools were Krugerpark, Little Bedfordview, Potgietersrus Titans, Dr Dixon Mphahlele, Kgamanyana Primary, PEPPS Mokopane, Mokopane Primary, Johannes Masibe, Potties Comprehensive, Mabuela Ramorulana, Sokgedlwa Primary, Zebediela Sparkling Pink Dolphins, EDL Rampola High, Sterkrivier Secondary, Waterberg Titans and S.J. Van Der Merwe Thunders.
