Widespread power outage hits Polokwane as substation fails

A major power failure in Polokwane has left several suburbs without electricity with municipal teams working to find the cause.

POLOKWANE – Power has been restored to all areas affected by the widespread outage in the city.

The outage was due to a substation issue that has now been fixed.

POLOKWANE – Large parts of the city, including major residential and business areas, are currently without power due to a substation outage.

The affected areas include the CBD, Nirvana, Westernburg, Ivypark, Silicon Road, Penina Park, Flora Park, Fauna Park, and Hospital Park, among others.

According to information provided, the Polokwane Municipality’s energy team is already on site working to determine the cause of the outage.

At this stage, the reason for the power failure has not yet been confirmed and no time of restoration has been given.

Further updates are said to be communicated as soon as more information becomes available.
