Another Polokwane resident missing: Have you seen Johan?

Johan Herman Woortmeyer was last seen on June 8 after he left home in Hoog Street to take a walk. He has not returned since.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane police have opened a missing person’s case and are searching for 50-year-old Johan Herman Woortmeyer.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Maphure Manamela, Woortmeyer resides in Hoog Street in Polokwane and was last seen on Sunday, June 8.

“According to the police report, Woortmeyer went for a walk on the Sunday afternoon and has not returned home since,” her statement read.

Manamela said Woortmeyer was last seen wearing blue trousers, a blue and white checkered shirt, a grey and blue jacket and light brown boots and the time of his disappearance.

“Despite efforts to locate him, his whereabouts remain unknown at this stage. We appeal to anyone with information to urgently contact the investigating officer Sergeant Mokgadi Molope on 082 728 9831. Alternatively, information can be shared via the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or reported to the nearest police station,” she said.

Woortmeyer is the third Polokwane resident to be reported missing in more than a week.

Hendrick van Zyl (32) was reported missing on June 7 en route to the Greenery Shopping Centre, but was later found and returned safely to his family.

Meanwhile, the search continues for Leticia Shaunice Murphy (26).

Murphy was last seen on May 30 at a pub in Grobler Street in the Polokwane CBD and was last seen wearing a blue dress with white shoes at the time of her disappearance.
